Swearing-in of cabinet members; preparation and scheduling of key legislation for next sittings

Mogadishu, Somalia – 10 April 2025: The Speaker of the House of the People, H.E. Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), chaired a meeting of the Standing Committee at Villa Hargeisa. The session opened with the swearing-in of newly appointed cabinet members, administered by the Chief Whip, MP Mohamed Abdullahi Hassan (Nuux), in line with the Rules and Procedures of the House. The committee then discussed preparations for upcoming parliamentary sessions, including scheduling and prioritizing key legislation for the coming week. The Standing Committee agreed that the general sessions of the House would officially resume on the upcoming Monday, continuing the sixth parliamentary session.
