Retreat Closing: finalize priority laws, confirm order of business for next weekly session

Mogadishu, Somalia – 03 September 2025: The three-day retreat of the House of the People’s Permanent/Standing Committee concluded in Mogadishu. Over the course of the retreat, members reviewed laws carried over from the sixth session and new bills submitted by the Government, and agreed on priority legislation for the upcoming weekly session. The Committee finalized the order of business and scheduling for plenary debate. In his closing remarks, Speaker H.E. Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe) thanked members for their dedication and urged them to continue prioritizing legislation that strengthens governance, promotes development, and fulfills the constitutional mandate of the House of the People.
