Retreat Day 2: review pending laws, organize weekly session agenda, ensure social and constitutional alignment

Mogadishu, Somalia – 02 September 2025: The First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, H.E. Sadiya Yasin Haji Samatar, presided over Day Two of the three-day retreat of the Permanent/Standing Committee at Villa Hargeisa. Committee members reviewed pending legislation carried over from the sixth parliamentary session as well as new draft bills submitted by the Government, preparing them for plenary debate. The Deputy Speaker emphasized the importance of completing the finalization of the agenda for the upcoming weekly session, particularly laws affecting social issues, women, children, and vulnerable groups.
