Opening of three-day retreat of the Standing/Permanent Committee to finalize weekly agenda and priority laws

Mogadishu, Somalia – 01 September 2025: The Speaker of the House of the People, H.E. Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), officially opened a three-day retreat of the House of the People’s Permanent/Standing Committee at Villa Hargeisa. The Speaker noted that the retreat would be used to finalize agendas for upcoming weekly sessions of the House, with special focus on governance, national development, and priority legislation submitted by the Government. Members reviewed pending bills from the sixth parliamentary session alongside new draft legislation to ensure an organized and efficient legislative workflow.
