Standing Committee session after Eid/Hajj recess: review pending bills and schedule next plenary agenda

Mogadishu, Somalia – 15 June 2025: The Standing Committee of the House of the People convened at Villa Hargeisa, chaired by the Speaker, H.E. Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), with the First and Second Deputy Speakers present. The Speaker briefed members on the reopening of parliamentary duties following the Eid and Hajj recess and stressed the need to accelerate the passage of pending bills before the close of the sixth parliamentary session. Committee chairs provided updates on their bills, and the agenda for the upcoming plenary sittings was finalized. The Speaker urged members to work diligently to meet the constitutional responsibilities of the House.
