Oversight session with Minister of Internal Security and Immigration & Citizenship Agency on national security and service delivery

Mogadishu, Somalia – 27 May 2025: The Committee on Internal Affairs and Security of the House of the People held an oversight session at Villa Hargeisa with the Minister of Internal Security, H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), and the Director of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mustaf Sheikh Cali Dhuxulow. Chaired by Acting Chair Hon. Nur Ahmed Dirie (Nur Afey), the meeting reviewed the national security situation and evaluated the performance of immigration services. Members raised questions about coordination of security institutions, border control, and citizen-facing service delivery. The Acting Chair emphasized the critical role of parliamentary oversight in strengthening institutional accountability and public trust.
