Oversight visit to Adan Adde International Airport: security, service delivery, infrastructure and management accountability

Mogadishu, Somalia – 20 May 2025: The Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Ports, Airports, Public Works, and Energy (Committee for Roads, Ports, Airports, Energy and Transport) conducted an oversight visit to Mogadishu’s Adan Adde International Airport. Led by Chairperson Hon. Abdullahi Abdi Mohamed (Geelqaad), the committee assessed security protocols, service delivery, infrastructure challenges (including recurring flooding), and operational efficiency. The committee then met with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, including Minister Hon. Mohamed Farah Nur and airport management, to discuss accountability and service standards. The Chairperson emphasized the importance of parliamentary oversight to ensure that national infrastructure meets the needs of the Somali people.
